Are you ever looking for a sympathy gift for someone, but don’t quite know what to do or what to get? The words are hard to come by, the thoughtfulness feels in adequate and as a friend or family member you feel hopeless.
I know the feeling. Recently, my family experienced a loss in the family. We were trying to decide what to get the family member in mourning and decided on an engraved stone along with the essentials to start her garden this spring.
Even though it is a sad topic putting an engraved stone in your garden, will not only add beauty but it will help one with the memories of a lost one. I keep thinking that one day when the garden is in full bloom and I go outside to explore I will be able to tell the story to another from my point of view, or sit by my family member and hear what she went through. The engraved stone will be a part of the healing process today, this spring and many years to come.
Having a beautiful garden in your own yard that you can tend to day in and day out quite accessibly will be great therapy for a broken heart. And if one day you were to move on to another home or area you can take your engraved stone with you and feel that you are still tending the resting place of a loved one.
Helping one cope with the loss of a loved one isn’t always easy. I recommend getting something that helps with the mind, body and soul. Working in the garden and arranging your engraved stones is a great way to help a loved one heal.
