Outdoor Fountain Care: Keeping your Garden Fountains Clean
Gardening and outdoor decorating time is here and it is time to get out the outdoor fountains. Proper care and maintenance of your garden fountains will prolong the life and beauty of them. Before filling your fountains this spring be sure you are starting off with a clean one!
An important component to every water feature, indoors or out, is the fountain pump or motor. The fountain pump is easy to clean and maintain. The easiest way is to take it out of the fountain and put it in the sink. Take a toothbrush and scrub any debris out of the small spaces and tubing. Most pumps will have a small cover that pops off so you can clean the impeller part of the pump as well.
Next, be sure you are starting the spring off with a clean, beautiful looking fountain. Scrub the inside and any dust off the outside that has built up over the winter months and add clean, cold water to your fountain and plug it in!
