The reason for this is that is the most powerful means to get the water flowing through the fountain with enough force to produce beautiful water sounds and enough water flow for each fountain, indoor or out. We have many customers ask about battery powered fountains which are available on a very small scale. If you think about batteries in a toy or other device, if they are left to run they run out very, very quickly. Also, they just aren’t strong enough for large fountains, thus the need for electric powered pumps. As for solar fountains, they are very popular and there are many varieties available, just nothing very large at this time. So, 99% of the water fountains you see in stores or online will need an electrical source to power it. This goes for pond fountains, indoor fountains and garden water fountains.
The next thing that is important to know when it comes to sorting out facts about water fountains is placement. You can’t place any indoor fountain outdoors. The electric requirements are different for outdoor fountains as they must be safe from rain. An outdoor water fountain should have a 3 prong plug so if you have an indoor fountain you wish to place outdoors be sure it is covered or check to be sure it is safe for the elements of outdoors.
Saying that, you will find many types of water fountains and some of the interior designs and pieces are quickly becoming popular for outdoors as well such as outdoor wall fountains. People are always trying to find simple pleasures they can incorporate in their outdoor living spaces and water fountains are one of those simple pleasures.
