Urn Style Outdoor Fountains

I was recently in search of an Urn Style Outdoor Fountain. I saw one at a friends house on her front porch and loved it!  The sounds were amazing and I just loved how all the water was contained inside the urn and there was no splash at all.

When I started my search I found many styles and found it a bit hard to choose. I decided to first decide on my location and go from there.  They are electric so I had to consider placement of my outlets outside.  I finally decided on a corner right off the edge of my garage that bordered the walkway up to my front door.  I had an outlet there that I plugged my Christmas lights to in the winter so it worked out perfectly!  That way we could enjoy it if we were hanging out in the front lawn, passerby could enjoy it as they walked by our house and, I could see it from my front window making it that much more enjoyable to look outside.

Based on the location I just needed to decide what color tones I wanted.  Our house was a yellow/tan so pretty neutral but considering the flowers I had in the area I wanted the fountain to stand out.  I finally narrowed my search to the Raku Garden Fountain (view here) and the Rock Creek Outdoor Fountain.  Both were similar in size but one was black and the other neutral colors.  In the end I went with the Raku Fountain and oh my what an impression it has made.  Not only do we all enjoy the water sounds, we have had birds, butterflies, hummingbirds and the family dog checking out our new fountain!

I love the water sounds and it has been so easy to keep clean and looking nice.  I did purchase the White Scale Control as I was planning to use water from my outdoor hose and I didn’t want to risk the hard water build up on my new black fountain.  In summary….I love my choice and for my first fountain, I can say I am hooked!
